As
the Coblation® process generates significantly
less heat than lasers, less thermal injury is
produced.
Because the healing period is related to the amount
of thermal damage, the recovery period following
coblation is more rapid and generally less uncomfortable.
Complications such as prolonged redness pigmentary
changes and localized scarring occur less frequently.
As the Coblation® instrument is applied directly
to the skin surface, the surgeon has excellent
control over the depth of treatment which is varied
according to individual requirements.
Cost is substantially less than comparable laser
treatment.
