Visage™ Coblation® is a relatively gentle process that is performed under local anesthesia. The surgeon removes the superficial skin layer(epidermis) by passing the probe over the skin much like one marks passages in a book using a yellow highlighter.

Subsequent "passes" of the probe gently heat the deeper skin layer(dermis) to a temperature sufficient to induce collagen shrinkage and realignment but significantly below temperatures asociated with laser treatment.
